The '70s 1979 On November 16 Itautec - Itaú Tecnologia S/A. is established, having the objective of positioning Grupo Itaú at the forefront of banking automation. The '80s 1980 Itautec moves to Avenida do Estado. Between April and August, Itautec's team developed a complete solution: hardware, software and application. A kiosk-format terminal was developed, which was used and operated by the clients themselves. The terminal contained a video monitor that interfaced with users. 1981 The 1st prototype of a microcomputer is presented at the 1st International Information Technology Exposition. The 1st Client-operated Touch-screen Terminal (with a proximity sensor) to be used on a commercial scale. Banco Itaú's Main Branch was inaugurated using an Automation System fully developed by Itautec. A Microelectronics Group was created, which would later on lead to the establishment of Itaucom. 1982 Itautec's 1st microcomputer the I-7000, is launched during the 2nd International Information Technology Exposition. Banco do Brasil's 1st pilot banking automation branch is installed. GRI (Itautec's Network Manager) is installed at Banco do Brasil; it is still in use today. The 1st ATM is installed at Banco Itaú. 1983 Itautec's Educational Center is established and the Support Services, Technical Support and Maintenance Area is organized. Itaucam - Itautec Componentes da Amazônia S/A - the 1st enterprise in Manau's Free-Trade Zone is established. Citibank's pilot automated branch is implemented. TItautec's Redator (text processor) and SET/TA (terminal emulation and file transmission system) are released. 1984 Itautec's supermini I-9000, the first mid-range computer, is introduced at the 4th International Information Technology Exposition. Itaucom - Itautec Componentes S/A - is established, with the mission of designing and producing integrated circuits, printed circuit board and board assembly. 1985 Itautec introduced the PC/XT microcomputer. Launching of Itautec's Sales Automation System, highlighting the I-5000 Point Of Sales terminal. First Supermini I-9000 sold by Itautec to Unicamp. The BEI - Itautec Electronic Counter is introduced. Itautec's URA (voice response system) is installed at Banco Português do Atlântico in Portugal Grupo SONAE's 1st store is automated, in Portugal. Itautec introduces the IS-30 microcomputer. The 1st Brazilian designed and manufactured fax is introduced. 1988 Inaugurated, in Jundiaí, Adiboard's manufacturing plant; the largest and most advanced printed circuit board manufacturing plant in Brazil. Itautec introduces the IS-30 plus microcomputer. Itautec's PC 386 is introduced The 1st locally manufactured scanner for sales automation is launched, in partnership with USP São Carlos. Itautec's TEF (electronic funds transfer) at the Eldorado supermarket, in São Paulo, is introduced. 1989 Grupo Itaúsa buys Ford's equity control of Philco Rádio e Televisão S/A. Itautec and Canon sign a technology transfer agreement for copy machines. GRIP (Itautec's Network Manager for PCs) and SISNE (DOS operating system developed together with Scopus) are launched. The '90s 1990 The IS386 notebook is introduced, in partnership with AL Electronics. The PC486 microcomputer is launched. Assembled printed circuit boards start to be exported from the Jundiaí plant, which was inaugurated only two years before. 1992 Itautec established a partnership with Intel to assemble and distribute servers in Brazil. Itautec's new Electronic Counter - BEI - is installed at Banco do Brasil. Itautec is awarded the 'Prêmio Telecom de destaque' of the year. Itautec established a partnership with Texas Instruments to sell Notebooks. 1993 Itec S/A - join venture between Itautec and IBM - is established, in charge of the AS/400 products business. Itautec receives the International Quality ISO 9000 certification. 1994 Itautec S/A and Philco S/A merge, forming Itautec Philco S/A - Grupo Itautec Philco. Itautec receives the Company of the Year award by Anuário Informática Hoje. Itautec launches its 1st site on the Internet. 1995 The InfoWay microcomputer is introduced; a product that would reposition the company's position in the market. 1996 The Infoserver division is established, dedicated to the production of servers 1997 Itautec's IHC solution wins the Microsoft's Best Intranet Solution in the World Award, whose award was delivered by Microsoft's President Bill Gates. Itautec receives Intel's "The Largest Latin America Land Account" award. Itautec inaugurates its virtual store, Itautec Shop. to sell its products over the Internet. 1998 The Transglobe microcomputer line was created; equipment including high technology. Itautec starts selling its products using the BTO - Build To Order system over the Internet. Consumers can now configurate their equipment according to their needs. Itautec is the 1st company to deliver personal computers with Windows 98. New ATMs are introduced. Itautec is the sixth world manufacturer of banking automation. Largest single contract sale of ATMs to Banco do Brasil. 1999 InfoMusic is launched during the Extra-Mappin/SP inauguration. Itautec is positioned as a service and corporate application provider, and now offers site development, as well as the hosting and maintenance. A pioneer of e-commerce in Brazil, Itautec receives for the 2nd running year the Infoexame Magazine award for "The best purchasing Site." Production of high-speed RAMBUS 700MHz memory boards is initiated. 2000 2000 Itautec launches its new line of Notebooks and InfoWay Slim; a compact design and high processing performance. The only Latin American Company to participate in the launch of the Intel's Itanium processor. Launch of Digital Lock for intelligent buildings, which includes fingerprint recognition technology to open doors. Consolidated over 130 projects for clients, such as the development of sites and B2C and B2B applications. Installation services for Internet broadband connection system; enabling more than 15,000 units within 4 months. Prominence to WebWay Slim in the self-service segment. A boldly designed kiosk, which enables a great variety of applications. Production of notebook, printer, server and memory video expansion modules. 2001 Itautec displays at COMDEX - one of the highlights was the InfoWay personal computer with a Pentium 4 2.0 GHz processor, the fastest in the market. According to IDC-Brazil, Itautec is the sale leader of microcomputers for the corporate segment. Global Finance magazine selects Itautec as "The best Computer Hardware in Latin America." Launch of: PAD - supercomputer (developed together with USP- University of São Paulo); InfoServer 6480 (ultra-compact rack-mounted); and the high technology workstation for graphic desing. InfoWay was awarded the"2001 Best Desk Top Computer" by the InfoExame magazine Payment Server consolidates itself as the most complete payment portal on the market. 2002 In the self-service segment, the WebWay Slim Terminal - developed using 100% Brazilian technology - won the "Best Design"at the IF-International Forum Design of Hannover, permitting its exhibition (at the venue) throughout the entire year of 2002. The intensive investment in R&D enabled the launch of the InfoCluster supercomputador (using parallel processing). During Comdex 2002, the WalkPC microcomputer was launched. It combines the high performance of traditional desktops and appearance/portability of notebooks. One of the product's differential is its optional external battery, which reduces costs. The Itautec USB64 MB Memory - a portable memory unit capable of storaging over 45 diskettes - was also launched. Launch of InfoWay Multimidia with sound boxes, 17" monitor, DVD, CDRW, Pentium 4.2 GHz, Live soundboard and GeForce 64 MB video board. Itautec entered the PDA market with its Handheld PocketWay, which includes: calculator, spreadsheet, word processor, electronic mail, plus voice command and wireless connection. Itautec was selected by INFO magazine readers as the winner of the INFO2002 prize for Hardware in the Desktop category - InfoWay Advanced competed, neck to neck, with 34% of the votes. In the server category, Itautec also won with the InfoServer 6482. 2003 For the first time Itautec exhibited with its own stand at CeBIT, in Hannover Germany, and for the 2nd running year was awarded the iFDesign Award with the TES - Password Issuing Terminal equipment. Acquisition of Riva Inform á tica, a Spanish company, specialized in the development of retail software. Closed TV Circuit, CFTV was launched, allowing simultaneous monitoring and recording. 2004 Itautec's Mini Cash, self-service compact equipment, wins the iF Design Award. Banctec is established in Mexico, with the objective of selling banking and sales automation products. Itec Ecuador is established, with the objective of commercializing systems for corporate solutions. In the service area, the rollout of 360 nationwide agencies gains prominence, for a large multinational bank. 2005 For the fourth running year, Itautec wins the iF Design, the most coveted international design award, at the Hannover venue, this time with two self-service products. Itautec receives the Balanço Social 2005 award. Itec Brazil received IBM Brazil's recognition as the best IT Infrastructure Solution Provider. Commercial offices in Argentina and Mexico are inaugurated. During the APAS 2005 (International Fair of Supermarket Business), the QuickWay Self Checkout was launched. In June the equipment started operation at a large Portuguese supermarket, in the city of Lisbon. Launch of a new family of notebooks containing mobile technology and widescreen format, plus a new line of servers based on Intel Xeon and Itanium 2 technology. In October, the Philco operation was sold to a large Brazilian consumer electronic company. 2006 On January 19, Itautec changes its name to ITAUTEC S.A. - ITAUTEC GROUP and its headquarters is transferred to the city of São Paulo. PC World magazine's laboratory test considers Itautec's Minitorre as the best consumer option, receiving the Best Buy PC World seal.   On June 30th, 2006, Itautec S.A. acquired the Tallard Technologies Incorporation, company that acts in the markets of the North America and Latin America in the distribution Information Technology products and services. Itautec was chosen as Outstanding Company of the year in the Services - Large Size segment to be part of Plano Editorial?s Anuário Informática Hoje (Information Technology Year Book Today) 2007 2007 In the Retail Automation Segment, Itautec was granted the "Best Supplier of Retail Automation" award by Sucesu. In June 11, Itautec received honorable mention for winning the second place in general classification in FIESP?s Environmental Excellence award, with the "Reduction of Hazardous Substances in Automation and Information Technology Equipment"- CX3 ATM Project. Itautec is among the Most Valuable Brands in Brazil, conquering the 95 th position according to the August 2007 issue of Época Negócios. Itautec won 5 th place among 15 companies awarded in the 5 th Benchmarking Ambiental Brasileiro, a program that identifies, selects and disseminates best practices in the sector. Itautec will take part in Ranking Benchmarking 2007, a review that distinguishes institutions and managers as models and examples to be followed. Itautec was selected Company of the Year from the Large Companies - Service sector by the Anuário Informática Hoje 2007 , of Plano Editorial. 2008 iF Design - Itautec was granted the " iF International Forum Design " award for the contemporary and innovative design of Klavyt operator keyboard. Itautec displayed its new banking automation products at CeBIT 2008, the 6 th edition. In Mexico, Itautec participated in the XXIII Congreso Latinoamericano de Seguridad Bancaria - Ceales 2008, where the newest products for the banking industry were presented, including the CX3 ATM - the first ATM manufactured in Brazil free of hazardous substances to the environment. The new Librix version was presented in the 9 th International Free Software Forum - FISL. Itautec was awarded the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) level 2 rating - distinguished international quality recognition that acknowledges the excellence of all the projects of the company´s development center. The CX3 ATM project receives the Fiesp Environmental Excellence 2007 award - 2008 Edition. Itautec receives an award from Isto é Dinheiro magazine in the Technology - Software and Services category, based on financial sustainability, corporate social responsibility , human resources, innovation and quality as well as corporate governance . MobiCash - a portability solution for payments - is granted the R&D Excellence from the Anuário Informática Hoje, 2008 edition. Itautec receives an award in the Benchmarking Ambiental for the project "Environmental Management applied to value chain - case packing". Itautec won first place in the 10 th Abrasca Best Annual Report Award - 2008 edition. The first place was earned in the category of publicly listed companies with net revenues equal or greater than R$ 1 billion, achieving the highest score of all award previous editions. 2009 Prizis, Itautec´s self-service terminal was selected by the iF Design Award 2009 "the most important European design award" for being a modern, compact and innovative product.
