TRADEMARKS AND PATENTS Specializing in the development of information technology products and services, Automations and Services, Itautec stands out for its intellectual property. In order to serve with excellence every client in a number of diversified operating segments, the Company maintains continued investments aimed at developing distinguished tools and equipment. Accordingly, in 2009, the Company deposited with the National Institute for Industrial Property (INPI) new patent and industrial design requests. One of them embraces a security device for ATMs and another is for streamlining manufacturing processes.
INNOVATION Itautec maintains partnerships with major global technology developers and has approximately 400 high-qualified professionals dedicated to development of new products and solutions. In 2009, in addition to anticipating the most important demands of clients in the banking industry for equipment with increased physical security, the Company kept up with the world?s most important launches in information technology, releasing versatile products developed with the latest technology. To maintain the position as largest Brazilian technology company with international operations, yearly Itautec invests substantial amounts in development, offering to its clients products that add value to their business management.
QUALITY/CERTIFICATIONS Additionally, Itautec respects all national and international regulations concerning labeling and manufacturing, and in some instances, voluntarily certifies its products in accordance with these requirements. In 2009, there were no identified cases of noncompliance in this regard.
In Brazil, the Company has the following certifications: Anatel (regulation for certification and ratification of telecommunication, information technology and retail automation products, in addition to computers, servers and notebooks), NBR 15250 (ATM accessibility) and Inmetro (security standards for IT equipment). It has also certification in the new version (2008) of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, which reveals the commitment with quality and the environment in the manufacturing process.
Abroad, the Company certifies all its products to meet the requirements of regulations of each country: IRAM - Instituto Argentino de Normalización y Certificación (user safety, IEC-60950 compatible), Underwriters Laboratories - UL 291 (ATM security), and CNC (irradiation standards for telecommunication equipment) in Argentina; NOM 019 (norms and requirements defined by local entity, NYCE) in Mexico; UL 60950 (user security), UL 291 (ATM security), FCC -Federal Communications Commission (electromagnetic compatibility) in the United States; IEC 60950 (user safety), IEC 61000 (electromagnetic compatibility and interference immunity EE), EN 1143-1 (methods for ATM safe burglary test) and the RoHS/WEEE European Directives (Restrictions on the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) in the European community countries. It has also the international quality certification CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration), level 2 rating in recognition for excellence of projects of the development center of the Company, and, in 2009, registered the information technology products with the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT).

Employees continuously receive training. In 2009, 2,026 employees - 1,532 internal and 494 external - have participated in training programs. Some of its clients are large chains of supermarkets, clothing stores, drug stores, public and private financial institutions and retailers. This diversified portfolio guarantees lower default risks and allows more control of the cash flow.
ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT The Company is well known in its operating segments by the commitment to developing products following the strictest national and international environmental protection regulations. Itautec strives to manufacture equipment free of substances hazardous to the environment, and since 2007, all basic Printed Circuit Boards of desktops and notebooks are manufactured using a lead-free system. In addition, the Company is ready to receive its products at the end of their useful life and to send them to the most appropriate final destination. In the manufacturing plant in Jundiaí, Itautec runs a modern Recycling Center - a benchmark in its operating segment - in which components that can be reused in the production process are separated, pressed and sent for recycling.
